Hurricane Shutter System

Rolldown Shutters

$52 per square foot installed Β· electric adds $700 per opening

Rolldown hurricane shutters partially deployed over a coastal home window

Rolldown shutters live in a compact housing above the opening and descend on side tracks. Manual versions use a hand crank or pull strap; electric versions close at the touch of a button or from a phone.

Double-walled aluminum slats give the highest impact resistance of anything we install, plus real noise reduction, blackout and heat rejection on days with no storm in sight.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if the power goes out?

Motorized units ship with a manual override crank, and we can add a battery backup that closes the whole house after the grid drops.

Can rolldowns be added to an existing building?

Yes. We surface-mount the housing and anchor the side rails into structural framing or masonry, with a built-out sub-frame where the reveal is too shallow.

“Had an issue with the finish a year later and they replaced the shutter without an argument. That is rare anywhere, let alone down here.”

“Kevlar screens across the full veranda five years ago. Two hurricanes later they still run smooth and the porch is intact.”
